day and age

day and age
day and age
The phrase in this day and age is a cliché. It slid into the language in the 1940s, although a film called This Day and Age, released in 1933, is not certainly the source. It should be avoided in favour of more straightforward terms such as nowadays or at the present time.

Modern English usage. 2014.
